Home Construction

Repair Your Home with Habitat

Habitat Pittsburgh provides low-income homeowners in Allegheny County a variety of affordable home repair opportunities, including:​​

  • Flooring, drywall, ceilings, and painting

  • Windows and doors

  • Insulation and weather sealing

  • Roofing, gutters, soffit and fascia​

  • Mechanical systems (heating, plumbing, electric)

  • Health and safety remediation

  • Accessibility modifications

Your first step to repairing your home with Habitat Pittsburgh is to review our program requirements and list of repair programs currently accepting applications

Program Requirements

To qualify for Habitat Pittsburgh's home repair program, you must meet our requirements:​

 

Homeowner in Allegheny County

You must currently live in a home you own within Allegheny County. Your home must need repairs within the categories listed above. Homeowner's insurance is also required.​​​​​​

Low-Income

Your household income must be less than 80% Area Median Income. Use the table with your family size and total annual income to confirm your eligibility. 

​

Payment

You will be required to make an affordable, one-time payment. You will pay on a sliding scale, up to 10% of the total repair costs.

​

Willing to Partner

Applicants must be willing to actively partner with Habitat Pittsburgh by volunteering. This requirement may be waived based on project scope and applicant.

Habitat Pittsburgh is currently accepting applications for the following affordable home repair services:

Furnace Repair 

Habitat Pittsburgh can assist you with affordable furnace repairs or energy-efficient replacement. Please note: This is not an emergency service, we are unable to provide immediate assistance.

Homeowners Energy Efficiency Loan Program (HEELP)

This loan program provides up to $10,000 at a fixed-rate of 1% for energy-efficient home repairs, including furnace, roof, window and door replacement. This program is provided by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA), see their eligibility requirements

General Home Repair

We are not currently accepting applications for repairs other than the programs listed above. Check this webpage or signup for our email notifications list for future home repair opportunities.
