PITTSBURGH, June 22, 2023 – Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh (Habitat Pittsburgh) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Wesco International. The leading global supply chain solutions provider headquartered in Pittsburgh recently gave a grant of $150,000 to Habitat Pittsburgh.
Dr. Howard B. Slaughter, Jr., President & CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh said, “The contribution made by Wesco International is the single largest Build Day Sponsorship in Habitat Pittsburgh’s 37-year history. It will aid in our efforts to build new Townhomes for marginalized families; while simultaneously increasing homeownership and equity in the Larimer community.”
Habitat Pittsburgh’s vital Homeownership Program provides affordable first-time homeownership opportunities for marginalized families in Allegheny County. In addition to the financial contribution, local Wesco team members are volunteering on Habitat Pittsburgh’s construction site throughout the year, including Wesco’s inaugural “Day of Caring” on June 22.
“Many communities face significant challenges, including a documented and broad need for affordable safe housing. We are proud to be working with Habitat of Greater Pittsburgh to address those needs,” said Chris Wolf, Wesco Chief Human Resources Officer and executive sponsor for Wesco Cares.
