Young athletes from Southwestern Pennsylvania and beyond will soon compete in Habitat for Humanity of Greater Pittsburgh’s 17th annual Kids Triathlon Series! The series not only helps to build confidence and encourage physical activity among kids, it benefits Habitat Pittsburgh’s affordable homeownership program here in the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. The series consists of two races: the first will be held in South Park on Saturday, July 15th, 2017 for ages 7-12, and the second will take place in North Park on Saturday, August 5th, 2017 for ages 7-15. Founded by United States Congressman Tim Murphy and a group of Habitat Pittsburgh supporters, the Kids Triathlon series has raised over $800,000 for Habitat Pittsburgh’s programs and reached over 5,700 young participants.
Athletes can register for the July 15th South Park race at SPKidsTri.eventbrite.com and the August 5th North Park race at NPKidsTri.eventbrite.com, the cost is $35. Registration will also be available race-day for $45. Each athlete will receive a bag, t-shirt, finisher medal, and will qualify to win a trophy and other prizes. Young athletes can also fundraise for Habitat Pittsburgh by asking their friends and family for pledges either in person or online atgive.classy.org/KidsTri2017. The top two fundraisers for the entire Kids Triathlon Series will be announced at the North Park race in August. These fundraising champions will win a gift card to purchase a new bike at Pro Bike + Run.
“As the longest standing Kids Triathlon in the area, we are celebrating the ongoing support of our athletes, parents and volunteers,” say Kristi Webb, previous Habitat Pittsburgh board member and volunteer South Park Race Director. “The race continues to be a great way for athletes, families and volunteers to be involved with an event that’s healthy, fun, and a direct support to those in our local communities. Whether they are actively engaged in competitive sports or just looking to have a good time, each child will be encouraged and celebrated throughout the morning.”
The Kids Triathlon Series and Habitat Pittsburgh’s affordable housing programs are made possible by many community partners. Current committed sponsors of the 2017 Kids Triathlon Series include: Federal Home Loan Bank, W.G. Tomko, Inc., Johnson & Johnson, Giant Eagle, Howard Hanna, First City, HM Insurance Group, Citizen's Bank, and Trivent.
This newsletter-style post was very engaging and informative it’s inspiring to see the ongoing efforts and ac repair near me community impact highlighted so clearly. The updates feel meaningful and well-presented. I also read something similar on a citylineairconditioning-based review blog (citylineairconditioning), which connected well with this.
Your Habitat Pittsburgh newsletter update is engaging it’s great to see the community impact highlighted. I recently came https://www.doublegpainters.com/ across a discussion on a centered blog that also emphasizes local initiatives.
Such an inspiring update it’s always encouraging to see communities making real progress. The way you shared these https://cabriostructures.com/ highlights felt both genuine and motivating. I recently came across a related discussion on a based review blog which echoed similar positive themes.
